Who was Patanjali?
In some texts consider a great sage Patanjali who was born between 100 and 800 BC Born in Gonarda, India, and later lived in Kashmir. He compiled all the teachings of Yoga which until then had been given orally for many centuries.
He was the first put the teachings written for use by scholars, and hence it is regarded as the founder of RAJA YOGA. The Sutras are the basic teachings of the Trans-Himalayan school, which They have come from many of the Masters of Wisdom: Some students consider the teachings of the Essenes and other schools of mystical thought connected with birth of the Christian religion are based on the same system, having been educated instructors Same great school.
What is Yoga and what does this word mean?
One of the leads connected to the Sanskrit root meaning "to yoke" or "join", and this has the same idea as the root of the word "religion", meaning "rebind". It may therefore take it as the science of unite the soul with the Eternal Godhead, science teaches the method of joining with God the human soul. Another derivation show "enter trance, meditation." both are possible and really mean the same thing.
The Sutras of Patanjali offers us the laws of this release, and the rules, methods and means to make "perfect" man that follow.Speaking very generally, there are two main forms of Yoga in the East: Hatha Yoga (physical) and Raja Yoga (mental). The Hatha Yoga produces certain conditions through exercise, your results are transient and do not persist in a next life. The Raja Yoga work from the inside out, mainly bydevelopment and education of the psychological powers of man. This is the method that is Patanjali.
Adeptship acquisition is achieved by the practice of Yoga eightfold. this is progressively and successively, and is described as follows:
- YAMA : Abstention
- NIYAMA : Restriction, religious discipline.
- ASANA : Correct posture.
- PRANAYAMA : Breath control straight.
- PRATYAHARA : Mental and sensory control.
- DHARANA : Concentration.
- DHYANA : Meditation.
- SAMADHI : Ecstasy, mystical trance.
Through this practice, the brain and the subtle parts of the lower are made tone for the perception of the true Self. This conscious awareness is possible only when that it can "be reflected in mental matter."
The theme of these Sutras is the birth of spiritual man in the physical man.For long ages we have been involved in physical and psychic nature, and within that life has grown a mental world of myriad images and a center of forces inexhaustible desire. These psychic energies becloud the true spiritual energies. You must discover the glorious augoeides. By achieving this have worked and moan creatures of all ages, of which man is heir, waiting for the final delivery of the Son of Light.
This birth is MOKSHA, peace of spiritual bliss.Dvivedi says: "If a man wants to understand their place in nature and be happy and progress, you should seek the physical, psychological and moral development that allows it to penetrate deep nature. Must observe, think and act, to live, love and grow. A high aspiration that man, in whom body, soul and mind act in correspondence, he revealed the highest secrets of nature, and even all. "That means develop, control and ultimately transcend physical nature. The glory of the spiritual nature is indescribable, and his powers are unimaginable.
But yoga and occult training are not strange or contrary to nature. The Yogi becomes one with nature in a very special sense, and therefore all secrets remain open for their perception. THE VOICE OF THE SILENCE tells us: "Help Nature and work with her, and Nature will regard you as one their creators and make obeisance it. And open wide to you the gates of their secret places, and display before your eyes the hidden treasures in the very depths her pure and virginal womb. Untouched by the hand of matter she shows her treasures only to the eye of the Spirit, which never stay closed and for which there is no veil
one in all their kingdoms."
one in all their kingdoms."

Define the upper and lower natures, and examines the obstacles to union and how to remove them. Its theme is the understanding of the soul, the versatile psychic nature

"It gives the silly thousand intelligences and only want yours" says an Arab proverb. We started planting the garden of our life, when we look at hand, we notice that the neighbor is there, spying. He is unable to do anything, but he likes to offer nonsensical ideas on how to sow our actions, our thoughts we plant, we water our achievements.
If we pay attention to what he says, just working for him and the garden of our life will be idea of neighbor. End up forgetting cultivated land with much sweat, fertilized by so many blessings. Forget that every inch of land has its mystery and only the patient hand of the gardener can decipher. We will not pay attention to the sun, rain and the seasons ... to focus only on that head we spy over the fence.
The fool who loves crazy offer opinions on our garden never tends his plants.

Health
Flexibility is the ability to increase the extent of movement in a given joint.
The limits of motion in a joint show through 3 components:
The limits of motion in a joint show through 3 components:
- The type of joint between the bone structure.
- Ligaments that reinforce this assembly.
- Muscle elasticity, by which the muscle recovers its shape after being deformed.
As the flexibility regresses with age, we work it regularly: at birth we have a flexibility of 100% over the years we lose, gradually we become more rigid. With 60 percent of adults older than 50 years bringing an inactive life, someone surprised to see more health problems related to joints and muscles becoming insubordinate stiff, swollen and even painful.
Also contributes to muscle rigidity and inflexibility: as we age, muscles tend to lose elasticity, and tissues around joints thicken. That hinders movement. In fact, one can lose, every 10 years, 10 percent of flexibility if you do nothing.
Muscles have to be lengthened slightly to greatly improve the range of motion of joints. But when the stretch and hope to get a long-term outcome, are we acting on the individual muscle fibers or connective tissue fibers surrounding them? The answer is: both.
Muscles have to be lengthened slightly to greatly improve the range of motion of joints. But when the stretch and hope to get a long-term outcome, are we acting on the individual muscle fibers or connective tissue fibers surrounding them? The answer is: both.
Inside muscle fibers of a muscle can be lengthened by adding small contractile units called sarcomeres. If a muscle remains shortened by a cast, the sarcomeres are lost and the muscle fibers shorten. Not enough to lengthen the muscle fibers, it is also necessary to distend the connective tissue of the inner and outer muscle and the fascia overlying and individual fibers that surround it. And this is what happens in the sessions of prolonged stretch. The Hatha Yoga stretches are an effective and safe way to perform this exercise.
General tips:
Start slowly. Stretch will become easier as you gain practice.Do not force it. Overdrawn can cause pain and injury. You may feel a slight tension to stretch the muscle, but it should not hurt. If it hurts, stop.
Breathe deeply. Do not hold your breath. Breathe slowly and deeply will help you relax and make it easier.
Stretch all major muscle groups, holding each stretch for at least 20 seconds.
Practice stretching at least three times a week and most days of the week you exercise.
Listen to your body and do what you can. Everyone has a different level of flexibility, which is determined in part by our genes.
If you are taking yoga or stretching, give your body a chance to rest and recover by taking a day to not stretch when you feel uncomfortable or sore.
Eat Healthy, Hydrate well and do not forget that there are nutrients that keep joints in good condition, some of them are:Collagen, Omega 3, Magnesium, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, etc
